Mineral sunscreen, also called physical sunscreen, creates a physical barrier on top of our skin, and reflects UV rays (as opposed to chemical sunscreen which contains ingredients that absorb and transform UVA and UVB rays into heat).
Mineral sunscreens offer the most broad protection against UV rays (even protecting from UVA rays coming through windows) however they are not always as water and sweat resistant as chemical options, so you will need to apply regularly. Look for active ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, but be aware that these can leave a white cast on the skin.
