Sodium laureth sulfate (or SLES) is a sulfate surfactant commonly used as a cleansing agent in skincare, known for its ability to generate foam and lather, which then binds with dirt and impurities on the skin making them easier to remove.
Despite prior misconceptions, SLES is safe and very well tolerated by most skin types.
